Charleston is probably one of my favorite places I’ve been. Something about the colorful buildings, amazing food, and friendly people completely stole my heart. My most recent road trip here, we didn’t too much other than eat and walk around (my two favorite things), so I decided to share my personal favorite photo spots in Historic Charleston.
If you’re looking for a more activity based post click here for my 1 day guide to Charleston in Spring. All of the spots I have listed are within walking distance of each other with the exception of the last spot in Mount Pleasant.
As always my best travel photo advice is to hit the road early. The light is the best in the AM and there are way less people around. It will be way less stressful and frustrating for you to shoot in the morning if your goal is solely to take photos!
Tradd Street & The Famous Blue Door
If you’re here for blog photos or just a aesthetically pleasing Instagram post this area is your best bet. Truthfully just park anywhere along Tradd, church, or king street and you’re bound to find a gorgeous house in any color.
Meeting Street
Home to even more beautiful homes and parks, but my personal favorite is the gorgeous wisteria that blooms here in the spring time. If you happen to be here during a different time of year, don’t worry there are PLENTY of gorgeous spots around.
The Famous Pink Door
I mean need I say more? This is a fan favorite from everyone, and one of the most popular photo spots in Charleston. On the walk down you’ll see even more beautiful homes that you can easily snap photos in front of. If you’re trying to coordinate your outfit with a home you’ll have endless options. Its a quick walk from the battery if you are thinking of checking that out as well.
Pineapple Fountain
A classic tourist photo op, but the fountain looks so gorgeous at sunrise or sunset. If you are looking to get a people free photo your best bet would definitely be early morning. The park surrounding the pineapple fountain is also gorgeous and the pink blooms in spring are to die for.
Sailboat Ride
We had the best time on a sailboat ride via Charleston Sailing Adventures. The photos we got were so adorable, the weather was perfect, and they even have drinks on board!
Rainbow Row
A quick walk from the Fountain is Rainbow Row. Home to Charleston’s iconic colorful homes. This spot also gets packed pretty quickly so make sure to get an early start or go on a rainy day. The entire walk down this street is so dreamy.
Post House Inn
This one is over the bridge over in Mount Pleasant, but the inn is SO beautiful and is the perfect photo spot if you’re looking to get cute brunch photos. An added bonus is that the food is also amazing.
