The 6 hour drive to savannah from Fort Lauderdale almost always sounds like a good idea to me, especially when I’m itching for a flight free trip. Savannah in Spring is absolutely beautiful. The weather is slightly chilly, the flowers are blooming everywhere, and the seasonal allergies have yet to take you out.
We got to Savannah Thursday night, and had an entire day to explore. Here is everything we did!
Capture the morning blooms. The lighting early in the morning is perfect for photos and theres much less people on the streets, which is absolutely perfect for a quite walk and capturing photos. I love morning photo sessions, so we hit the road right when the sun started rising. We walked around Jones street to see the gorgeous homes, and then headed around Forsyth park to capture the moss and gorgeous mansions surrounding it.
Breakfast at Collins Quarter. Breakfast here was one of the most highly recommended things to do. The atmosphere is so nice, and the food is even better. They are known for their breakfast hash (pictured below), and of course a Savannah staple, the Lavender Latte. Make sure to get here early to beat the breakfast rush.
Walk around downtown and go shopping. After breakfast we decided to walk off our food and pop in and out of the local shops. A favorite of mine is of course Chocolat by Adam Turoni shop where the chocolates are stored in bookshelf cabinets.
Picnic in Forsyth park. After grabbing our chocolates and a coffee from Frankie’s right near by we headed to Forysth park to have a mini dessert picnic. The weather this time of year is so beautiful and we had a nice time sipping our drinks and people watching.
Head to catch the sunset at the River front. We walked towards the river front right around golden hour. The bridge to savannah looks beautiful with the sun setting behind it, making another perfect photo opportunity. After walking around head to one of the many roof top bars for a drink, a bite to eat, or just to take in the view from another angle. We went to river rock roof top bar and the view did not disappoint.
We grabbed dinner at common room restaurant and the speciality drinks there were SO good. I got a mule and highly recommend. After dinner of course we wanted something sweet. We stopped at Lulu’s Chocolate bar and got a flourless chocolate cake that was life changing.
Whatever you decide to do in Savannah, you will have an amazing time! Make sure to let me know if you have any other recommendations! As always, If you’re here for the outfits I’ve linked as much as possible below!
