If you didn’t know this about me, I’m a huge swiftie. When Taylor Swift announced that she would be releasing the re recorded version of Fearless I was SO excited. Love Story (taylor’s version) being the first release was even more exciting, and naturally I caught myself rewatching the video from the original.
I remember freshman year me being OBSESSED with this music video. Like watching it on repeat an obscene amount of times obsessive. Literally the night before we took these photos I had the idea to do a shoot inspired by the original video. In my head the concept was Love Story (taylor’s version) *hailey’s version. I had impulse bought the corset from Amazon when it went viral on tik tok hoping once I got it I would have shoot inspiration, but that didn’t end up happening. The corset has been sitting in my room for weeks.
So, you might be wondering, what does a girl do the night before wanting to shoot something that she has not planned a big of? The answer is to text your best friend and make sure she’s in to support your insanity before you go any further.
Thankfully, my friend Kelsey almost always is down to join my on my crazy impulsive photo ideas and this was no different. Once Kelsey was in I spent the night brainstorming locations, and remembered this fountain from a hotel in miami that would be perfect…. its over an hour away. Worth it right?
The next day we hit three thrift stores in search of a skirt and finally found this one. It was a women’s XL beach cover up, but I knew I could make it work.
The entire day I had it in my head that dr. martens would complete the look…. the problem? I didn’t own docs. The logical thing to do would have been to make the other 100 pair of shoes I own work, but in true Hailey fashion I impulse bought them literally 2 hours before we had to be to the shoot location.
We made the hour long trek to Miami and arrived at the site with the perfect amount of light. The photos came out great, but my favorite part was how the video turned out! Click here to check it out on instagram or here for tik tok.
