My intention for 2021 was to have FUN, and to do that I knew I of course had to try new things. I decided to try two new things in one day by not only taking my first spin at learning how to skateboard, but also my first try at shooting a video on my camera, shooting with my new polaroid, and wearing what could possibly be considered an “off brand” outfit.
I strictly use my camera for photo. I have been way to intimidated to even dream of using it for video. Shoutout to my insanely talented friend Jacob for encouraging me to try it out. Once I got past the initial fear of it turning out terribly, I realized it was actually fun. I also realized, if it turns out terribly, who cares? The fear of being bad at something right off the bat has always held me back from trying new things, and this year I am going to actively work to change that.
I ended up having the BEST time filming this video, and discovered I’m not actually terrible at Skateboarding. The X games won’t be seeing me anytime soon, but I didn’t break any bones so that has to count for something right?
The video is no work of art or genius, but for a first attempt I was able to put something fun together, and I already learned a few lessons about the settings and focus. If you want to watch the video you can click here, and if you have any tips at all please let me know!
Although my outfit isn’t “traditionally” queen bee style, I absolutely loved it. I felt super confident and comfortable in it. Cheers to trying new things, and actually loving them.
