Taking a trip to the set of the Vampire Diaries in the quaint town of Covington Georgia, I mean Mystic Falls, singlehandedly saved my 2020. Teenage me would be so insanely jealous of 26 year old me right now.
In case you hadn’t seen all over tik tok, Vampire Diaries was filmed primarily in Covington, Georgia. The quaint town doubled as Mystic Falls in the viral TV show. Here’s what you can see!
Mystic Grill
The outside of the Mystic Grill is 100% true to the show and the absolute perfect photo opportunity. Although the inside of the grill looks nothing like the show, it is still a must see. The inside has a ton of TVD items including a full wall of signed menus by the entirety of the cast. The food is also amazing! I would recommend the sweet tea fried chicken.
The Iconic Clocktower
Many a scene were shot here, of course including Delena moments. If you ask nicely, and they are not too busy- the wait staff at the mystic grill may even let you sneak up to the roof to snap a photo!
The Alley Gift Shop
The adorable shop is below the mystic grill in the iconic alley where a lot, and I mean a lot of people died. Inside the gift shop they also have a mini museum with the actual costumes from the show.
Vampire Stalkers
This is the cutest gift shop. They have vampire diaries and originals gear. Everything from stickers, to blankets to popsockets. No matter what team you’re on you will definitely find something here!
The Town Square
Tons of scenes were shot in the adorable town square on both the Vampire Diaries and the newer spin off show Legacies.
The Lockwood Mansion
just a short walk or drive you can snap a few photos right outside of the Lockwood Mansion. There is even an adorable plaque on the floor!
Elena Gilberts House
a few feet from the Lockwood Mansion you can walk past Elena’s house. There are current occupants so please be respectful of their privacy and stay on the sidewalk. I know you can visit a few of the other character’s houses but this was all we had time for.
Salvatore School
Sadly we did not get to see this site as we were on a super tight timeline and it was about 30 minutes outside of Covington, but if you can I would definitely recommend checking it out!
