In honor of my 4 year streak of holiday trips to NYC being ruined this year (thanks 2020), I thought I would share my favorite holiday photo spots in New York City.
Some of these are pretty cliche tourist traps, but hey, they became that way for a reason right?
1.Wollman Rink – Central Park
Ice Skating in New York around Christmas is a MUST. I’ve skating at all three rinks and Wollman Rink is my absolute favorite. There is so much more room to skate, the cost is lower, and the backdrop of the cityscape is the best! Fair Warning they take cash only. After skating you can walk around Central Park for a bit and take in the beautiful cityscape.
2.Cartier Building
This isn’t really a thing to do but I could walk by this building a hundred times. It is so beautiful. I mean who doesnt love a building wrapped in a bow?
3.The Palace
This may be my absolute favorite. The Palace any time is magical but at Christmas time? Nothing can beat it. I’m convinced it is the best tree in the city and if you’re a gossip girl fan then this is totally the spot for you.
4.Grove Street
Grove street in the West Village is so cute this time of year. Christmas wreaths and bows cover the adorable homes and you can even catch a glimpse of the friends apartment building while exploring the West Village.
5.Rockefeller Center
Ice Skating here is of course iconic as well as seeing the tree. Be warned, it gets PACKED so my recommendation is to go first thing in the morning. Not into ice skating? Stop by the Ralph’s Coffee truck for a coffee, or hot chocolate. The hot chocolate we got here was absolutely unreal!
6.Bryant Park
Bryant Park is adorable this time of year. Packed with shops, vendors, and delicious food. If you’re planning to ice skate I also recommend getting there early to beat the crowds.
7. Macy’s and Saks Window Displays.
Sadly I cannot seem to find any of my hundreds of window display photos, but this is one of my favorite things to do during the holidays. Going at night is event more exciting to me, but make sure to bundle up ahead of time.
8. Laduree
This is not holiday specific, but something about the fancy Macaron shop reminds me so much of the holidays. The latte’s hear are amazing, and there are two locations. One walking distance to
the Met, and one in the heart of Soho.
9. Empire State Building
This is of course a major tourist attraction, but if you’ve never been you have to see it at least once! Make sure to pack extra layers during the Holidays!
