If you follow my Instagram you definitely saw my caption about how I was fulfilling a life long dream to be Belle in the Blue dress. I have a habit of being dramatic, but this is definitely not an embellishment. Growing up Belle was always my favorite princess, but Belle in the blue dress specifically. I think it was the fact that this was independent Belle who loved to read, horseback ride, and roll her eyes at boys….or it was the fact that her dress was blue and blue was and still is my favorite color.
It took years to find a reasonably priced blue belle dress. Mostly because I’m pretty sure no one wanted to be that, and Amazon didn’t exist during my childhood. This year I finally found the PERFECT one – linked here. They even have an option at Target and Walmart that is slightly cheaper but I swear to you this one is way better (yes I tried on both).
Anyway, now that the costuming is out of the way, lets talk about the event. I’ve been going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party for years. The event technically starts at 7pm and ends at 12am, but what most people don’t know is that your event ticket gets you into Magic Kingdom at 4pm.
The entire part is decorated for fall, all of your favorite villains are out, and the best part? The entire night you get candy! I mean honestly, can anything top trick or treating through Disney? Don’t get me started on the halloween inspired desserts either. I had the headless horseman pumpkin cheesecake and it did not disappoint! They also have an adorable Maleficent ice cream cone complete with lime green ice cream and chocolate horns.
In between stopping at all of the candy stations we of course rode all of our favorite rides, yes they’re all open! Space Mountain even gets in the Spooky Spirit by blacking out the entire rollercoaster and blasting scary music. There is also a Halloween themed parade and firework show which has the castle decked out in all things Spooky.
The event is perfect for everyone because of the smaller crowds, free candy, and shorter wait times! If you haven’t gone I would definitely make it a top priority.
p.s. I did not wear Tory Burch flats through Disney, I packed my sneakers in my bag. Judge me all you want but I can’t fulfill my lifelong dream in nikes.
