Anyone who knows me knows I am the queen of last minute trips. I think we planned this entire trip 3 weeks before hand, and thankfully it all came together.
Before I start this post about the trip everyone meet Josh. Josh is one of my closest friends who I met through work last year. We no longer work together, but thankfully Josh loves spontaneous trips as much as I do, and thanks to his amazing Fiance we get really great travel deals. (Roberto I blame you for our trip addictions).
Moving on… I want to preface that this guide is pretty much just recapping what we did. I know there are a ton of awesome things to see and do in Newport and we tried to do them all in a day.
Where we stayed
We stayed at the cutest inn in downtown Newport just 5 minutes from Bowen’s wharf and all of the shops and Restaurants! I found the Chart House Inn on Expedia, but ended up calling and got a much better deal. Margaret the Inn Keeper is the sweetest and gave us advice on the best places to eat and see!
Where we ate:
We didnt have too many note worthy meals in Newport as we were traveling around so often. We ate at the Black Pearl and it was delicious. I definitely recommend trying the fried Brie!
What we did:
The first day we walked around Bowen’s wharf and checked out the KJP Flagship store which was just as adorable as I thought it would be. There are ton’s of adorable shops and photo spots to enjoy.
After that we headed to the Castle Hill Inn for drinks and to watch the sunset. This was amazing. The view was unreal and the drinks were delicious. This was the top thing I wanted to do on the trip and I’m so glad I got to experience it!
On Saturday we went to Martha’s Vineyard so no Newport activities to report. On Sunday morning we had a few hours and decided to checkout the Cliffs. This walk was amazing and the views were insane! The walk is about 3 miles one way so we started at a half way point around Narraganset Avenue. We walked for about an hour total and looked at all of the beautiful houses and cliff views.
I can’t wait to plan my trip back – What are your favorite places in Newport?
