The Gal Meets Glam Effect

I’ve recently been shooting in a lot of Gal Meets Glam dresses and I have never been happier. I’ve always struggled with my personal style. Not because I didn’t know what I liked, but because I felt the need to fit in with what everyone else was wearing. My sense of style is very feminine, classic, and I hate to use this word but modest.

Growing up in south Florida meant lots of Jean shorts flip flops and boho type shirts. I always thought other girls looked adorable and super confident in that style, and although I was wearing almost the exact same outfits I never felt confident myself. As I got older I decided to embrace my style. At this point I didn’t feel confident in anything I wore, so I decided to start purchasing clothing I actually liked. Might as well be self conscious in clothing I loved rather than clothing I felt pressured into wearing.

Once I shifted my style over, comments came in left in right – not all positive, but I found the passive aggressive negative ones to be just as big of a confidence boost. Because my personal style isn’t necessarily the most popular or common thing to see on someone my age I often stand out making it so important to me to absolutely love and feel confident in the pieces I buy. I was constantly struggling to find those perfect pieces within an affordable price bracket – then the first Gal meets Glam collection launched.

I remember flipping through the look book and genuinely feeling the amount of work and personal attention to detail that went into each dress. Julia Engel has always been a style inspiration of mine. She’s fully embraced her personal style and has built an entire business and community around it.

The tag line for Gal meets Glam is “Dresses that take you places”, and this could not be more true. Every time I buy a Gal meets glam dress I instantly want to go somewhere beautiful. The photo below was planned entirely around the dress. I knew I wanted to find the absolute perfect spot to capture a photo on how the dresses make me feel.

Whenever I wear a Gal meets Glam dress I instantly feel like my true self. The style, fabric, and little details make for unique designs that fully embrace a classic feminine style. The dresses are one of a kind pieces that truly stand out. I have never gone anywhere in one that I have not received compliments or questions on where the dress is from. The best part? The amazing group of women who wear the dresses! Everyone always has the sweetest comments and there is truly different dress styles for everyone.
