We all know I am an absolutely crazy dog mom. Today is my Bendel Girl’s 2nd Birthday, and I cannot believe how fast she has grown.
Bendel has a huge personality. Since day 1 she has been a total Diva. I like to refer to her as a needy roommate more than a typical loving lick your face chase the tennis ball kind of dog. She is all about Bendel all the time and her Instagram success has definitely gotten to her head.
I got Bendel when she was 8 weeks old from a Farmer in Mariana Florida. On the drive home I was instantly in love, and she was not. She threw up on me moments into the long ride home, and I felt like this was my official initiation into being a dog mom.
Bendel’s personality has not changed since the moment I picked her up. She is absolutely fearless to the point of giving me ridiculous amounts of anxiety. She’ll climb, jump, swim, chase, and eat about anything. Honestly Sometimes I think it’s just to be a show off. She is a total social butterfly, as long as you have 4 paws. She is not a huge fan of strangers, but I think this is mostly due to the fact that she thinks she is too good for everyone.
Her true diva self comes out when she’s tired. She can play and run for hours on end, but when she is done she is done. There is no reasoning with this brat dog when she is ready for bed, and you must make sure you have a blanket available. If we’re out at dinner and she is overtired she will throw full tantrums until I let her fall asleep in my lap, or lay a blanket of sorts down on the floor. It is probably one of the most comical things about her, and secretly I live for the snuggles.
In true Bendel fashion she had to end her second year of life with a bang and decided to pull a living 3 foot iguana out of the ground and bring it over to me like a pet. I swear the look on her face said “Mom can we keep it?”
I hope you all enjoyed getting to know Bendel! For more Bendel follow her Instagram!
