If you’re anything like me and obsessed with pen and ink watercolor art you know how much of a pricey addiction collecting the different pieces can be.
Thankfully for me I have an insanely talented grandmother who can practically recreate any piece I send her, and specify it to me. I have so many amazing pieces from her that I wanted to be able to show case them without having an entire wall of the same thing, and put them in unique frames without breaking the bank. I have about 8 others throughout my room but the two pictures are my absolute favorite!
I decided on a color scheme, navy gold and white, shocking I know. I then set off to the thrift store to buy some unique frames, and the craft store to buy spray paint. The total cost to me was about $10 and making everything was so much fun.
The paddle hook was probably the most expensive and difficult thing to make on my wall. I found a plain board with the whale hooks on it at Hobby Lobby, and because it was damaged it was insanely cheap. I waited patiently to find the perfect paddle and finally found one a few weeks later at a garage sale. I broke out the power tools and the spray paint and got to work. I spray painted the whale tales navy, then drilled holes in the paddle and reattached them on the handle. I made the monogram with my cricut machine which is a whole other blog post waiting to happen.
I filled some of the frames with personal pictures to break up the pen and ink art. The round gold frame was the perfect frame for my favorite photo of Bendel and makes people crack up when they see it.
The newest addition to my wall is courtesy of Photageapp. They sent me the coolest re-stick able wall prints to move around as many times as I want without taking off the paint! I can’t wait to get more prints for my office! If you want to get some prints of your own just download the app and invite 5 friends to join to score a free print! The point of this post is to show that you don’t have to spend tons of money on frames and wall decor to try and mimic all of those drool worthy Pinterest posts. Taking the time to find unique pieces and designing them to your specific personality makes the room feel more special and uniquely you.
My adorable pjs are from Shein and I am in love! I have 3 pairs now and I cannot wait to buy more! They do run a bit small so I would suggest going a size up!
