With spring in full swing and Summer right around the corner, I thought this would be the perfect time to do an unbiased bikini guide.
Finding the perfect bathing suit can be extremely difficult for most girls. Personally, I cringe at the thought of buying bathing suits in sets without being able to mix and match sizes. I have the hardest time finding bottoms that actually fit and usually need a bigger size than in the top; I’m sure most of you can relate to this problem. It seems that today all of the cute bikinis are online and sold in sets, which forces you to take a complete gamble and pray it fits.
I recently took a risk and bought a few bikini’s from Shein. The bathing suits on this website are insanely cheap, and if you’re like me and go through bikinis like tissues, this is the perfect site. That being said, the quality is not amazing and going to last for years to come, but with trends always changing it’s the perfect way to have a variety of bathing suits on a budget.
Before buying anything I made sure to read the reviews. There are surprisingly a lot of honest reviews about fit and quality that made it extremely helpful to pick a size and decide if it was worth buying. A running theme I found is that most of the tops run on the larger side and the bottoms on the smaller side, aka my worst nightmare. I decided to stick with bathing suits where at least one piece is adjustable, so at least I had a shot of something fitting.I lucked out and 2 out of 3 bikinis fit perfectly! The red gingham one is my absolute favorite! It’s up on Shein in 4 different colors and is under $15. It does run a bit small, I’m wearing a size Large and it fits great.
Checkout the photos below to see what it actually looks like, and keep reading to see some of my favorite suits and affordable dupes!
I have been obsessing over Lilly Pulitzer’s new swim line, the gingham suits from J.Crew, and anything scalloped. I’ve linked a few dupes that look almost the same for less than half the price!
